DANIEL CROCE

Daniel is a co-founder of TingaTinga Capital. Dan’s interest in anti-poverty investing developed as the logical byproduct of a collision between his knack for financial stewardship and a deeply rooted passion to care for the poor. He has traveled to several geographies ravaged by war and mired in poverty, and is instrumental in developing relationships with on-the-ground entrepreneurs in these regions.

By day, Dan is Vice President of Finance & Investments at Birchmere Ventures, a venture capital firm investing in early-stage innovative companies.  Prior to joining the team at Birchmere, he worked as a senior associate for Ernst & Young. He has a bachelor’s degree in International Business from Grove City College and a master’s degree in Accounting from the University of Virginia, and is a licensed CPA.  His investor perspective, financial aptitude, and substantive relationships are a great asset to TingaTinga.

Without a doubt, his most noteworthy accomplishment is marrying up.  He and his wife Lara live in Pittsburgh.

DAVE DIETRICH

Dave is a co-founder of TingaTinga Capital.  Dave has contributed in various capacities to developmental efforts in East Africa over the past 6 years.  He has traveled extensively throughout the region and has a deep understanding of the issues facing impoverished communities.  He has a particular affinity for Uganda; Dave is the founder of Project Okello, which is a Grove City College-based organization that has been providing aid to war-torn northern Uganda since 2005.  He brings a great blend of visionary thinking and third-world street smarts to the table for TingaTinga.

Dave is a graduate of Grove City College, with a degree in History Education and a minor in Mathematics.  He is current pursuing his Master’s in Social Work at Millersville University.  Prior to his graduate studies, Dave taught high school math in an urban setting in Pennsylvania.   He resides in Lancaster, PA with his wife, Courtney, and daughter, Fiona.

NATE JACKSON

Nate is a co-founder of TingaTinga Capital.  Nate developed an interest in microfinance in 2006 when he was first exposed to Kiva.org and has been an advocate ever since.  With a genuine concern for the developing world, an eagerness to make a lasting impact, and the belief that positive change can be achieved when ingenuity is coupled with opportunity, Nate is proud to be a part of the TingaTinga team.

Nate is currently an MBA student at the Tepper School of Business.  He will be joining Bain & Company as a strategy consultant after business school and previously spent a year working in valuation at Deloitte and three years as a mechanical engineer at Bechtel Plant Machinery, Inc.  He offers TingaTinga a strong breadth of business acumen and ground level project management expertise.

Nate received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Grove City College in 2008 and is currently an 2013 MBA Candidate at Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business.  He and his wife Bridget currently live in Pittsburgh, PA.

 EVAN ADDAMS

evan_addamsEvan recently joined the TingaTinga team as a key player in our stateside business development initiatives.  In the fall of 2010, he and Dan drove together from upstate New York to Pittsburgh, and chatted about entrepreneurship, third world development, and the intersection between the two.  In the following two years, Evan periodically checked in on TingaTinga progress and continued to dig into its ideals.  He eventually met and heard the vision of Benson Ocen, and this interaction ignited his passion to see economic progress and social restoration in Uganda.
Evan graduated from Grove City College in 2010 with a degree in Entrepreneurship, and is actively engaged in the Pittsburgh start-up scene.   His primary contributions are in developing TingaTinga’s BridgeBuilders fellowship program, deepening stateside relationships with universities and investors, and pursuing other strategic partnerships to expand the reach of TingaTinga.
